Park Info

The city of Hobart rests on the Derwent River in Tasmania, and is filled with history, shopping, food and festivities throughout the whole year. This makes it the perfect destination for a family holiday, or an essential stop on your tour around Tasmania.

When visiting Hobart, Discovery Parks – Hobart is the ideal place to stay. Situated outside of the city across the river, it benefits from the peace and quiet which comes from being out of town, while still being close enough to easily get to the city and all of the other attractions for which the area is famous.

Discovery Parks – Hobart has a range of accommodation for all types of visitor and all budgets. The Standard and Economy Cabins are ideal for the budget conscious traveller or for those guests passing through who want a comfortable place to stay for a few nights. The cabins come with private bathrooms, well-appointed kitchens with everything you need at your fingertips, and reverse-cycle air conditioning to take the chill off of those crisp Tasmanian mornings. There are even a number of accessible cabins available to ensure that every visitor feels comfortable.

If you’re looking for the home-away-from-home experience, then the Superior Cottage, great for up to 6 people, or the Deluxe Cabins are perfect. With dramatic balconies, fully fitted kitchens, including washing-machines, and comfortable beds, you’ll be perfectly content settling in for the duration. The Deluxe Cabins even come with a gas stove, so at the end of the day, you can cosy up in front of the fire with a hot drink. A perfect way to end the day.

Visitors with caravans and tents are also welcome at Discovery Parks – Hobart, with plenty of powered sites available, including some with ensuite bathrooms to make life even easier. All guests are then welcome to use the onsite BBQs, conveniently covered by a wooden shelter, to prepare a meal in comfort.

The kids will have plenty to do while you’re cooking, with a playground, bouncing pillow and putt-putt golf course to enjoy. You can even catch up on some work while they’re busy, with conference facilities available onsite and free Wifi throughout.

There is so much to see and do in Hobart and beyond. The city itself boasts plenty of history, as well as markets, galleries and more restaurants than you could imagine. Or head out on a day trip to the famous Port Arthur Convict Colony Museum, or visit the nearby, quaint and historic Richmond Bridge, the oldest bridge in Australia.

Even if you’d only planned to stay a short time, you’ll soon discover there are so many things to see and do that a day will easily turn into a week. But each evening, you know you can return to your cosy cabin or campsite, and relax in warmth and comfort, all the while planning all of the amazing things you’ll be able to see the next day at Discovery Parks – Hobart.
